I had a really good experience with Barbara in November and December, 2020. I visited her before my chemo started and we chose a style and color that was a close approximation to my own hair. Once my hair loss started, I contacted Barbara, she ordered the piece and I visited again for fitting and styling. While I still feel somewhat self-conscious wearing a wig, it fits great and I receive many compliments from friends who know - they all say it looks so natural. What more can you want!
I am extremely grateful to Barbara Cameron. She is kind, knowledgable, caring, and above all spent the time to really listen and hear what my issues were (another salon had used a color treatment that left me with massive bald spots and extensive hair loss). She explained what she saw going on with my scalp, my hair, and let me know that she could help me. She patiently explained the differences between human and synthetic hair toppers and tried on different ones until we agreed on one that was the right color, length, and density. It was a huge relief. Even though it will take quite a while for my hair to grow back (I have long hair), Barbara talked me into a synthetic hair topper. I think it is the right choice--much less expensive and I can always get another one and still pay less than the cost of a human hair one if I need another one before my hair grows in. She found the perfect topper, squeezed me into her very busy schedule, noticed that my hair (which had just been cut by the same person who ruined it with the color) had many split ends and gave me a quick trim to keep my real hair healthy, then took me upstairs to show me how to put on, wear, style, care for, and store the topper. She trimmed it, styled it around my face, had me practice until I could master putting it on and taking it off. In just an hour, I walked out with beautiful hair, felt great for the first time in a long time (no more hiding under hats!), and had everything I needed to care for my new hairpiece. It was easy, comfortable, pleasant, and fun! Barbara is a unique woman, and so giving and generous with her knowledge, gentle spirit, and yet she's empowering. I want to see her every day! She taught me all about hair color so that I had a complete understanding of what happened to make my hair fall out and how my cuticle was damaged. She told me why my previous salon (before the last nightmare) used the color it did, and she explained what color products she likes and why. I learned so much fro her before we ever talked about hair toppers! If you are considering any haircare issue--see Barbara. You will not regret it.
I am 73 years old with thinning hair and I am not ready to look old! I shopped several places for a hair piece before a friend told me about Barbara Cameron. She is fantastic. Her wigs are excellent, and she is amazing at making me feel special, and so well cared for. She took time to listen to what I wanted, to look at pictures of me as I would like to look again, and knew exactly what to do. I was skeptical but the piece she made for me is PERFECT. It looks like my own hair....just thicker. Oh...and, she gave my own hair a great haircut! Thank you, Barb. You are a two hour drive for me and I will not hesitate to keep coming back.
