“I have found Alward Construction to be such a class act. Along with work they did on my house, they poured the perimeter foundation for my accessory building 10-plus years ago. Shortly after that, I needed to put the accessory building build on hold. Recently, upon resuming the accessory building build (on my own), it came to my attention that a hold-down was missing. It truthfully felt odd and embarrassing, on my part, to reach out to Alward Construction after so many years, But I did. Mark was understanding and treated the situation as if they had poured the foundation last week. Not only did they come out to install the bolt, Mark sent Rafael, the builder who was the Lead on the my project more than 10 years ago and Rafael's right hand person from more than 10 years ago! I was grateful and impressed by how Alward Construction has managed to retain these excellent builders and how Mark, without hesitation, stood by the work they did more than a decade ago.“

We were very happy with Harvey Construction as they were timely and professional in coordinating our inspection. Jim McEvoy was our inspector. He walked us through the entire inspection process and explained the root causes of any pests. As new home owners, we sincerely appreciated how he helped us prioritize issues and give us ideas on things to look out for with our home. Jim prepared a report on extremely short notice - under 24 hours so that we could be prepared for a plumbing inspection. Jim is professional, charismatic, and great to work with. “We recently did a total house remodel with them and I have to say they are honest, communicative, do fantastic and very high quality work. And are generally very good people.“

“In 2014, we hired Don Waters Construction to do the design and construction of an addition to our house in Albany, CA, adding a bedroom and bathroom. In addition, we had him expand and remodel the existing bathroom in the old part of the house, as well as make some improvements to the kitchen (new granite countertops, tile floor, sink and oven hood). Don had a team of 3-4 people working every weekday, and they completed the six-figure job on budget, on schedule (4 months, as we'd hoped) and with no accidents or unpleasant surprises. Don's crew was reliable and pleasant to be around. Clearly, he takes care to choose and manage his employees. Don also came up with some very creative design solutions to issues that came up along the way (such as where to add closets in small bedrooms so as to maximize living space while providing ample storage). He's got very good problem-solving skills. We have been very pleased with our expanded house. One important aspect of working with Don that may not come through in reviews like this is his integrity. He takes a lot of pride in his work, so when our house recently developed a roof leak at the point where the old roof was joined to the new, we asked him to take a look. Though it was almost six years since he did the addition, and it wasn't clear how much his work may have contributed to the leak, Don got up on the roof, did a water test which pinned down the source of the leak and then personally researched and applied a fix. And refused to accept payment for it! Many contractors would have refused to help us or accept any responsibility for this since it was more than 5 years since the addition was done and the cause of leaks is always difficult to assess with certainty. This is another sterling example of Don's integrity, and also his superior problem-solving skills. We're going to miss having Don and Kim as Albany neighbors and now friends, as they will be moving up to Washington (state) soon. He's made a big contribution to our lives and we highly recommend him for any and all home construction projects.“
