About UCSF San Mateo Primary and Specialty Care
UCSF San Mateo Primary and Specialty Care is part of a larger healthcare network known for providing specialized medical care and innovative treatments. The clinic offers a range of services, including well-child visits and preventative care. Patients praise the friendly and respectful staff, including the receptionists, nurses, and pediatricians. They highlight the doctors' patience, knowledge, and use of the latest medical research to guide their advice. While patients speak highly of the care received once established, accessing the clinic for new patients can be challenging. The appointment process for adults is described as tedious and frustrating, with long wait times and difficulty reaching a person by phone. Existing patients, however, find scheduling appointments for themselves and their children easy and convenient through the clinic's app.
Dr. Ogawa has been my family doctor since 2022. She is a great physician who always carefully listens to my concerns, makes sound diagnosis and always provide helpful advice. I'd strongly recommend her.
I had a very poor experience here, both with my doctor and on the administrative side. The doctor was dismissive and missed something major than my next doctor easily investigated and solved. It felt like this doctor did not have the time or interest in solving my issue. The admin/tech side seemed very outdated and inefficient compared to other doctor's offices. They need to improve the quality of their patient care overall.
We had a very thorough well-child visit for our two children. The receptionist was friendly throughout a very lengthy on-boarding procedure. The nurses and pediatrician were great with a very respectful and warm bedside manner.
