I have been a patient at this location for the past twenty years, ever since I was born. I have never had a bad experience with any of the doctors, even when my main physician is unavailable. Sometimes I do have to wait a little bit longer than expected, but that is worth it for me because I know I will be seeing doctors and nurses who care and have cared for me my entire life. The little Disney-themed decorations in the numbered rooms are also a nice added touch, they're great for younger kids but I still remain fascinated by them. When my youngest son was born at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, Dr. James Ferrara was the pediatrician who performed his newborn screening and circumcision before we left the hospital. My husband and I were very impressed by the latter because our baby didn't react traumatically from the procedure nor did he have swelling nor bleeding (Unfortunately, our eldest son did not have such a smooth experience in San Diego). We were so pleased with Dr. Ferrara that we decided to continue to see him for our son's newborn well checks after we left the hospital. This led us to this pediatric office. I thought this office was just okay. Dr Suwabe has strange bedside manner, like she always seemed as though she couldn't wait to finish up with us and leave the room, which is strange because she's always late. Like very late. Which I understand doctors get busy, but being locked up in a tiny exam room with a busy toddler is hard! I ended up switching doctors because honestly I love a friendly pediatrician and we didn't find that here.
