Was looking for a masseuse in San Leandro and feel lucky to have stumbled on Carrie. The studio doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is well-decorated and calming on the inside and Carrie is professional and thoughtful in her treatment. Parking is easy. She does a mix of Swedish, deep tissue, trigger points and other modalities and says she specializes in working with clients with pain. She really worked out my "animals" -- knots on my shoulders, back and forearms that felt so much better afterwards. I drifted off a bit and in the end was only sad that I didn't book for 90 mins.
I have had a long history of bad massage experiences. Some have been on the lower end and others on the higher end. I always like to use Yelp to do my research and that's exactly how I came across the Healing Lotus. Booking the appointment was a bit tricky...I believe in the end my wife wound up doing it for me. Carrie works for herself which is nice because you only have to deal directly with her. When I arrived to her place of business I realized it's only her that operates out of there which is also a plus because the experience is very personable and doesn't feel rushed. I've been seeing Carrie for well over a year for stress related concerns and she's the best! She's really skilled and nuanced at being able to tease apart the subtle body tensions and knots that need support and pressure. I can't recommend her enough! : )
