About Wildwood Veterinary Hospital
Wildwood Veterinary Hospital, located in San Jose, CA, is dedicated to providing top-notch care for pets while educating clients on maintaining their pets' health. The hospital's team is known for their kindness and commitment to animals, as showcased by their attentive care towards a client's bearded dragon and even a stuffed puppy brought in by a toddler. They provide quick service and stay updated on the latest veterinary technology. Although their medications can be on the pricier side, such as antibiotics for a rodent costing $100, their compassion is unquestionable. For instance, they emailed a list of resources to a caller seeking advice for their tortoise, demonstrating their dedication to helping animals in need, even if they are not yet patients. The staff, including the caring vet and her team, are praised for their genuine concern and effort, making pet owners feel comfortable leaving their animals in their care. The clinic is also known for its ability to treat exotic animals like guinea pigs, and many clients have had positive experiences with surgeries and health checks. One notable story involves a bird saved from an egg-bound episode, with staff personally caring for her during recovery in their private aviary. Overall, Wildwood Veterinary Hospital is recognized for its compassionate care, expertise, and commitment to animal well-being.
Rescued guinea pigs and took them for a wellness check before rehoming. Vet and her staff so caring and overall a good experience. Had to pay in full upfront weeks prior to visit; that generally puts me off a place although I do understand why they do it.
I love this place because they really do care for the pets they see and they make me feel comfortable leaving my pets in their care. It's hard to find good veterinarians who see exotic animals like guinea pigs. I've been coming here for several years now and I always tell people about this place. My guinea pig Minnie also just had exploratory surgery because she had blood in her urine and the surgery went very well and Minnie was able to pee and go back to her usual self.
This review is LONG overdue. My daughter just got her first cat and asked me for a recommendation. Dr Welsh saved my dear Macaw from an egg bound episode that surely would have killed her. Not only did they save her during surgery when she started to slip away but they personally took her to their private aviary to keep an eye on her over the weekend for her recovery. They are incredible. I've been meaning to send them a note to thank them again and let them know she passed a few years ago feom bone cancer. I took her to Texas A&M vet school and they were horrible. Thank goodness for REAL avian vets who know their stuff.
