The people who work here are professionals and they primarily work with landscaping companies. I've found them to be extremely helpful and kind, even though I'm a homeowner and not a contractor. For instance, I ordered a couple dozen hard to find, high end landscaping lights. They were able to get my full order by calling stores as far away as Minnesota and patching together inventory. I couldn't find these lights anywhere else, but Site One has a huge footprint and inventory system. In another instance I ordered karapia, which they were very helpful with. The grower didn't have any ready, but they got me on the top on the growers waiting list so the first batch they harvested came to us. I called a lot of other people about the karapia but they all just said it was backordered and try back in a few months. Site One went far beyond, I was at the counter while they talked to the grower and negotiated on my behalf. I also love that everything they have is contractor grade, not big box home improvement retail grade. It makes a difference in the quality of your finished product. To be honest, it probably helps if you have some idea of what you need. These people are busy with professional contractors. But I've asked a lot of questions and they have been patient and helpful, never a bad experience with any employee.I'll add that I usually come in with my wife and she's been in without me and everyone has been equally helpful and professional with her.Finally, I read an unusual comment from another poster, claiming racism based upon the fact he perceived he got a weird look. I can't comment on his experience, but I can say the staff is very diverse. In both gender and ethnicity. I've also seen them interact with employees of contractors, many of whom were not native English speakers, and the interactions were like mine, patient and respectful.
Excellent customer service. Very helpful and patient with my questions. I'm renovating my backyard lawn, irrigation, and pathways and they have everything I need. Big mistake wasting time at hd/lowes. The rest of the staff is friendly as well. It appears to me that many contractors come here. Don't worry, they are very welcoming to the DIYer like me. Very nice supervisor? gave me a water while I waited. These guys rock. I'll be back.
