“This review is way overdue. I originally set out to find something to help with my deep acne scars and discoloration/ sun spots due to sun damage. I had never heard of a vampire facial, but it looked pretty intense and was terrified of the healing period. The whole process of someone taking your blood plasma and rejecting it into your face to help with all your facial concerns just seemed terrifying actually! I went and had a consultation and met my amazing nurse Katelyn! Her explanations, her gentle demeanor, reassurance of the process and just her overall pureness as a person was so reassuring. It was satisfying to know that I would be in great hands with my whole journey and this long process of fixing my skin. I had three vampire facials with nurse Katelyn. When it comes to details, especially when it's your face...obviously, you want to find the BEST, and I have found the best! I will follow this woman to the ends of the earth. Becky, the owner, is a wonderful soul who was incredibly accommodating with scheduling and made everything seamless. “I had this service done at other places before, but I NEVER loved it as much as this time. Melissa honestly did an amazing job on my almost no-hair brows, giving them a beautiful shape that looks so stylish now. My lashes are very straight, and I’ve seen lash curl jobs elsewhere where you can barely notice a difference. Not this time! It looks like I just used a lash curler, even after two weeks. The place is also beautiful, and I will definitely come back!“

“I have had unwanted hair due to a medical diagnosis for years - as long as I can remember. I have paid thousands in laser hair removal with laser away, dermatologists and even was told that a Moxi/BBL Facial laser would be the "permanent fix" - none of them were. Waxing made me break out with major ingrown hairs, plucking damaged my skin and often led to breakouts and broken off hairs - I was so frustrated and apathetic that nothing would work for me... Someone finally told me about Electrolysis and I looked it up and found Christine. I immediately jumped on her waitlist and when my time came, it was the best thing I could have done!!!

Christine is thorough and takes the time to explain everything, over and over because I would re-ask constantly out of nervousness, forgetfulness, new questions - it was NEVER a burden for her and I never felt inconvenient for asking. She wants this to work for you almost more than you do! When she finds herself with extra time, instead of wasting yours, she works with you to find a small area you may want to try (ex. mustache) to do with the remaining time. She is detail oriented in the electrolysis itself - It always feels like no one will find all the little hairs you do with your 20x mirror and tweezers, and yet she does!!!

After a year of being consistent and following her schedule, my hairs do not bother me (I still have a few left and have to pause working with her due to some personal reasons but am back on her waitlist) but I am not worried about the few that we didn't get during the right phase of hair growth. I went from having 150+ to now maybe 15 - she is a sanity and confidence saver.

I was scared that everything I read about electrolysis said it was "semi-permanent" but the ones that aren't permanent are because it wasn't in the right phase of growth or they're now, but the old ones are gone or wispy and not the thick hairs that really were the problem. I was also worried it would be painful - after tweezing for so long, it really wasn't with some numbing cream (though I am also sure it depends on the area).

During the appointment, you can listen to an audiobook or podcasts or music - I always enjoyed our true crime podcasts! She makes you feel super comfortable both on the bed (blankets are an option) and ambiance/support.

The cost is really not the high price I was expecting, especially compared to what I have spent on the other modes with no results. The time investment is worth it as well.

“A very pleasant hole-in-the-wall location next to Nijiya Market. Nothing flashy, fussy, or very fancy, just quietly comfortable. Tammy/Phoong is the gentlest waxer I have ever encountered. My skin doesn't burn, my eyelids and upper lip aren't red for hours! The skin treated doesn't really get red. I've been getting waxed for twenty years now, and not only is Phoong better, but I can walk to see her, four blocks away. She is also now maintaining my hair. Her associate, who does hair & nails, has a similar-sounding name, but I've forgotten how it starts. I couldn't afford the transport to my last salon after we moved: it doubled the cost. I'm so glad I found Phoong. This review is about my third visit, and should have been written earlier! Except for the tiny bathroom, this is wheelchair accessible: no giant mani-pedi chairs, old-style equipment. My sister, who is hemiplegic, got her hair & nails done with no fuss. Her usual nail tech was back home for Tet, and her toenails couldn't wait three weeks, so I made an appointment for each of us. Little did we know that the rain wasn't playing to the weather app's schedule, and we arrived 45 min earlier so I could take my sister around Japantown, when it should still have been dry. We were drenched! Oops. We begged shelter while we waited our turns. Eventually ours came, and we were both very happy with the results. Both women are very pleasant to be around. It was dry out when we emerged, but we were each still damp. We'll explore another time.“
