Amazing experience here for my daughters first visit. The person I spoke to at the front desk was very nice and quick to process us. Once we were taken back, our nurse was very kind and made us feel extremely welcome. She was extremely skilled, calm, and made the ouchie parts not so bad. Our NP, Nina Waloewandja was the best provider we have seen, she was patient, understanding and my girl loved her. Overall we had a wonderful experience. Thank you to all the staff!
As others have said, this place has A LOT of problems. You'll be waiting at least an hour to be seen by your provider, and within that hour, you'll be dragged in and out of the waiting area for weights, measurements, questionnaires, etc. There is little communication between provider and other staff (like the medical assistants, admin, etc.) because I've asked them all the same question with different answers. I was a new patient and got completely incorrect information that led me to reschedule my follow-up because I was told that the appointment was actually for lab work. The administrative staff at the front are incredibly rude and outright IGNORE you as you're being patient and waiting to be called upon because you don't want to disturb them in the middle of their work. I literally looked at the woman at the front desk for five minutes waiting for her to look up from her computer screen when I was a foot and a half away from her face. She knew I was waiting to ask her a question, but it was only when made eye contact on accident that she told her friend behind her to come talk to me. It's incredibly frustrating and doesn't have to be this way. I've worked in a health clinic as both front desk help and as health educator, so I would know! The providers (nurse practitioners) themselves are great, albeit a little dismissive of some of the aches you may be complaining of. The set-up of the clinic is odd and there are no clear instructions about which waiting room you should be in, how to be seen for a QUEST diagnostics lab appointment, etc. I had to reschedule lab work because the woman that I spoke to at the front desk told me that my follow-up was actually an appointment with the lab portion of the clinic (WRONG... peak unprofessional and unorganized as patients have to carve out time for these appointments that run 2+ hrs when they have work, school, and other obligations!), but once I get that done and my lab results, I'm looking to change my primary care provider because I do not want to spend 2.5 hours total to be seen by my PCP for 15 minutes. I get it--healthcare is hard. There are A LOT of patients waiting to be seen. Some are walk-ins and others have appointments, but I honestly feel a little courtesy and organization goes a long way. I appreciate that they take Medi-Cal patients (which is why I'm there), and I do see advertisements for a lot of amazing patient programs they provide. I commend them for being accessible to the community as they do have sliding scale fees if you don't have insurance or if your insurance doesn't cover certain tests. Those reasons are why I gave 2 STARS. However, for myself, I do feel like there may be better in-network providers out there who have nicer admin staff and better office flow.
The only reason why I came here is because I don't have insurance as my benefits at work start till May 2018. Unfortunately, there were no appointments available as I was calling on a Friday. I was told I can go in as a "walk in" but there would be a wait time. I was so sick it was starting to hurt my chest to breath so I didn't think twice. I end up getting there around 6pm. I was helped by Veronica and she did my intake with the paperwork she was very sweet. The other front desk Ely was also treating all patients very nice! I think I waited 15 min after checking in when they called my name. Gabriela was my Medical assistant and she was AMAZING! She was so sweet and looked very clean and professional loved her make up! She took note of all my symptoms and concerns. They told me Doctor would be able to see me until 815pm and in the mean time I could leave and come back. I was so surprised and thankful they gave that option as some clinics you can't leave or you'll loose your spot. Came back and I was helped by Tuan Du,MD he was Amazing and examined me and provided my Rx's. Highly recommended! He made sure I understood everything and made sure to answer all my questions. The clinic looked very clean and organized! No smell to the place! Plus they work long hours and weekends props to them!
