Dr. Shao is such a genuine doctor. He is very approachable and truly cares about the wellbeing of his patience. He did extra work whenever possible to teach us how to exercise at home in order to improve his son's vision. He is a thorough, caring, kind, and responsible man. I can't praise him enough for his professionalism. With his work, my son's vision improved greatly. I am so grateful to him as a mom. He is the kind of doctor I would recommend to any of my friends.
Dr Shao is an excellent VTOD. They are different than your typical OD as they focus on developmental optometry. Dr Shao comes across as very genuine person, quite knowledgeable about his field and caring. Although he has several therapists working for him, he personally pays attention to each patient. He is honest about what what will work and what May not. As vision therapy is a controversial field it was important for us to go to someone who was honest. Our child's wonderful preschool teacher pointed out that we should get our child's vision checked by developmental optometrist as child seemed to have trouble focussing on smaller work. My son’s eyes prescription kept increasing year after year. His were minus 4.25 before we finally seeing Dr. Shao. After therapy followed with wearing orto-k his prescription remain the same now. He is also passionate and very knowledgeable about natural health and wellness too.
