We called Clausen for some electrical repairs at our Palo Alto house. They were on time, clean and were out within an hour. Their rates are very reasonable as well. I know they don't work for homeowners directly often, but I was luck they had a tech available that day.

I find it interesting, first of all, that most of the positive reviews are many years old. While Clausen electric is a good company, and they do good work, they are extremely overpriced. Not only that, but they give a bid for the work, and then the actual paperwork, once you agree to have the work done, is much more expensive than what was verbally quoted. Also, they overestimate how many hours a job will take, and then charge you for the hours that were estimated, not the actual hours that were used to complete the job. I am done using this company, and have found another company, equally reputable, who are less expensive and work with more integrity
