My 8 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just had 9 teeth removed by Dr. Zacher. Dr. Zacher is excellent and her team is top-notch! My husband and I were both very impressed by the care for our sweet dog. I was very nervous about my dog having so many teeth removed and being put under general anesthesia , but the staff kept me updated every step of the way while the procedure was being performed which helped to ease my anxiety. All went smoothly and, when we picked him up, we were given thorough instructions for home care and what to expect. The next day they checked in to see how our dog was doing which I thought was very nice. Our general vet recommended Dr. Zacher for this more complex dental procedure and told us our dog would be in good hands at Best Friends Animal Dentistry and that was so true!
I was very, very nervous about coming here because my precious service dog is a senior about to undergo a fairly serious operation with anesthesia, and a friend of mine's dog died fairly recently during a routine dental procedure (at a completely different place). The staff at BFAD were amazing in the way where they communicated constantly before, during and after the appointment! My dog had oral surgery and a few teeth removed. When I arrived, I guess I was visibly anxious and the person at the front desk did a "breathe in, breathe out" gesture (I'm Deaf, hence the gesturing). They also sent texts throughout the day, including letting me know that my dog was next to be seen, starting an IV, did well, recovering, and so on. That did wonders for my nerves because I felt like I was there and knowing what was happening meant my mind didn't go to any bad places. It has been a week since the procedure and my dog is still doing well. Right before I typed this review, I looked at her stitches and they're holding perfectly. I have to go back in 2 weeks for a free check up. After the appointment they followed up a couple times and quickly responded to my post-op questions. This place was a little far from me but there's no question I'd return if I had to and I strongly recommend BFAD to everyone who loves their pets. ImI
Dr Z and her staff are wonderful, and if your dog needs any dental work, Best Friends are exceptional in the care and compassion they have shown my middle aged Aussie. He broke a couple teeth, had a root canal not to lose a canine tooth, x-rays, and high tech cleaning and visibly cleaner, no plaque or tartar. Taking care of your dogs teeth could add years to their life.
