I discovered San Salon on Yelp and took a two hour ride to get there. The owner did an amazing job at doing a japanese straight "perm" on me. He spoke little English, but he was kind and didn't make my head hurt like the other places I've gotten this treatment at. Thank you, Figo!

Really enjoyed my experience here! Figo, who runs the store, cut my hair with a lot of attention and detail. He's a cool, artistic Chinese guy that used to work with celebrities in China and has a high level of professionalism - the last 20 minutes of my cut was basically him perfecting every minute detail. He is a craftsman and takes his time to get it just right. For $65 (not including tip), it was a GREAT DEAL. I feel like haircuts in the SGV have always been a wild card - many old school shops exist charging VERY affordable prices (we're talking like $25) and get you in and out in 25 min. But these hair stylists received training in the 80s and have not kept up with the times, making them skilled in technique but the cut just doesn't come out quite right if you're going for a specific 2020s look. The alternative seems to be trendy salons in Ktown that charge $120 for a haircut.. the cuts are guaranteed to look nice but I end up feeling like ... did it need to be that expensive? I'm so glad I found Figo's shop and will be coming back :)

Amazing and friendly group of people here at the salon. Was always too intimidated to get a perm anywhere, but Figo and his sister are god sends and were born to do Hair and Nails. Very friendly and very affordable for the time they spend on everyone's hair or nails. The details are in the work, and it shows. Love Lucky too! Cute Dog with such a big personality & super friendly too! Thank you San Salon!
