The amazing team of doctors and nurses, including Dr. Shelly Harrington, Nurse Lauren, and Dr. Kelly White, saved a cat's life and were incredibly kind and caring. Dr. Andes at Oncology has a no BS attitude and gives honest opinions, not upselling services.
I'm not sure why people are so down on this place, other than the emergency vet is quite possibly one of the saddest places in the world. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had a three hour wait. Having also visited the pediatric ER at CPMC on a Sunday, I can tell you that this felt about standard. Our dog was triaged soon after we came in and deemed non-critical, so fair enough, you wait. They have tea and water for the humans, as well as wifi. The waiting area benches allow your pet to rest next to you. We saw Dr Kelly who was pleasant and helpful. FYI, the charges here start at $235 for an exam (as of the date of this review). Trips to the vet are never cheap, and well, it's the emergency vet, so what do folks expect? The facility is clean, the staff all were nice. At least on a Sunday afternoon, parking was not too challenging. Tartine Manufactory across the street provides a good place to grab a coffee or sandwich during your hour of need.
I don't usually write reviews, but I had to share my experience this time because of the exceptional care we received at Sage San Francisco. My cat, Malo, who we rescued from a shelter just a few weeks ago, was in a life-threatening condition due to FIP. I rushed him to Sage Centers, and the amazing team of doctors and nurses saved his life. I want to especially thank Dr. Shelly Harrington, Nurse Lauren, Dr. Kelly White, and the front desk staff. Not only did they save Malo's life, but they were also incredibly kind, genuinely caring, and went above and beyond what was expected. I've never experienced this level of care at either a human or animal hospital before. Taking Malo to Sage Hospital was the best decision I could have made for him. I will be forever grateful, and I highly recommend Sage Centers to anyone seeking the best care for their companions.
This is my review for Dr. Andes at Oncology! Love her attitude, she is no BS and will tell you her honest opinion. I went here after an another vet suspected bone cancer but it was actually just a broken bone and gave me meds. She also decided against doing other services recommended by the other vet because it was unnecessary. She doesn't try to upsell you because she doesn't give a damn about making money off you. She clearly cares about the animals, I will be coming back to her again in the future.
