Highly recommend going elsewhere after experiencing the way that she disrespects black men. Terrible experience, terrible service, terrible attitude, terrible place of business, terrible ethics, just racist
Old ladies who keep on change they names. to get each other clients
$39 for an hour long facial?!? Sign me up! My friend recommended Devi Spa to me so I had to check them out. She said her $39 was money WELL spent, so much so that she came when me when I came in. We had a couple glasses of wine before we walked over to Devie to be pampered and let me tell you, that was one fabulous day! One of the better facials I've received in awhile and my skin felt amazing afterwards. Soft, smooth and I just felt like all the stress from the week before was gone. Unfortunately we had plans that evening so we had to leave and meet people otherwise we would have both gotten some massages! Oh well, that gives me an excuse to come back! If you're looking for a spa that is bang-for-your-buck, this is the place. An inexpensive spa with upscale spa-quality service.
I am ashamed to say that it took me 8 visits to finally realize that these massages aren't even worth the cheap price. I wanted to like Devie Spa so badly but here's the reality: the first time was impressive because I expected nothing. The following 7 visits involved a combination or all of the following... * Massages interrupted up to 3 times during the hour because the therapist (I use this term lightly) needed to chat with another or answer the door since no one mans the front desk. And no, they definitely do no wash their hands after they make an appointment in the book, answer the phone, or handle the door knobs and return to your massage. * Shortened sessions. Because of the above mentioned interruptions, they either lose track of the time or assume that you have. I've received anywhere from 45-60 minutes for my hour. * Rooms have previous client's dirty wet towels on the floor. Btw ladies, no sheets on the massage table just a small towel for draping. (You know what that means when you're face up.) * Unhonored appointments. I made 4. All for were not honored upon arrival. I was asked to either wait, receive a 30-min massage instead or I was passed to a different therapist who was evidently frazzled with the mix up. * Although I thought that tipping 25% was generous, I was informed that men tip 33-50% (I'm not even going to try and guess why). They make no bones about showing you that they prefer male clients, and in general try to see as many as possible even if that means rushing your massage, ending your appointment early or passing you to another therapist. * Which brings me to yet another terrible feature of this spa. On 3 occasions, my therapist simply checked out without warning--just left. Next thing I know, a new therapist is massaging an already massaged area of my body in a hurried fashion. * They don't always honor advertised specials. I came in May and was introduced to a special they were having: $40/hr through June 30. When I returned a week later (still in May, mind you), I went to pay and they said the special had ended and proved this by removing the flyer from the wall. You know, the one that says "expires June 30." * I have also had the tacky experience of the therapist adding her own tip to my credit card total. Anyways, get the picture? Not relaxing or therapeutic at all. I have big doubts that they are even trained/licensed. Aw well, my fault (fooled me 8 times--shame on me). Hope it doesn't take anyone else so many visits and hundreds of dollars later to come to the same conclusion. A note of sympathy: I do feel for the therapists who are recent immigrants. They are trying to keep their heads above water as we all are. Perhaps it's management that needs to set some higher standards, better training and a professional code of ethics.
