I am very happy I found Jay with Cal Accounting Center. I understand and appreciate that Jay is not here to serve as a therapist nor explain to me every nuanced question relating to IRS tax code. What he does do is taxes, and he does them well. If you take a closer look at those who rated him poorly, you may soon thereafter begin to reminisce difficult people you have come across in life and the best ways to handle them. Jay has the ability to be substantially more proactive than many other CPAs and this is exactly what type of CPA the best of us need. Someone who does things right in order to avoid audit, but also takes advantage of all appropriate deductions. He gives straight forward, no frills advice and has no time to beat around the bush. He has taken care of many of my referrals with ease. Jay loves what he does and is happy to help out. Tax work at it's finest!
Jay and his team are fantastic. Price is excellent for the quality of the work. When TurboTax and I could no longer handle my increasingly complicated tax returns, I contacted Jay. He was referred by colleagues who raved about the quality of his work. I sent my info over to Jay, had a chat with him, and after a few follow up emails/calls, TY2014 was done with better than expected results! After spotting some inconsistencies, they reviewed and cleaned up previous year's returns and re-submitted to the IRS. I finally feel like my taxes are in order and have been done correctly.
Watch out for these guys. If you do a negative review they may send you a nasty threatening email threatening legal action. In this way, they try to "game" Yelp by bullying people who have honest criticisms against them. Read the fine print of the contract you sign with them and you will see the "no criticism" in very fine print. Beware!!
