Several years ago my partner and I discussed the idea of looking into some sort of forest type burial place where our ashes could be placed together. Later, when he became gravely ill, we decided to purchase a tree from Better Place Forests in their Litchfield Hills location. The decision to place our ashes in this spot was a rite of commitment to each other, a sacred symbol of our joining. After my partner passed, the Better Place Forests staff was very helpful in planning the ceremony that we wanted to have. It was indeed a beautiful ceremony, simple, quiet, and very moving. Loved my BPF experience! Great value, experience and team. I wish they had more options in other states -- New York -- but the Berkshire's and Litchfield properties are ultimately close enough.
When our time is up, this is a beautiful way to give back to Mother Earth. All that we have taken we now have a chance to return. Plus, it's a beautiful place for family to visit you after you pass.
