TJM My Mother-In-Law, soon to be 90 years old, lives in a senior housing community in San Diego County, and late last year (2021) a common area storm drain failed to function and as a result her house was completely flooded. Due to the nature of the damage she had to spend her own money to mitigate the immediate water damage and to rebuild her home. The Home Owners Association (HOA) , the entity who is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the storm drain, and the property manager who worked for them, did nothing to assist and took no responsibility for the event. Rick Arias is an amazing case manager, he took the time to explain to me the legal process of my case, answered all my questions and made sure I thoroughly understood my possible outcomes.
