“Valerie is a magician! I have seen her three times and she recommended a treatment plan for my jowls, forehead, and under my eyes. She worked her magic with Juvederm Volux and Botox and I am loving the results! She has the eye of an artist and can immediately access what is needed and where by staring at my face! She is so easy to talk to and is an excellent communicator. I was nervous to have anything done to my face again, as I did not have a great experience before, at another facility. “MAKE SURE YOU REQUEST A PREVENTATIVE / WELLNESS APPOINTMENT!!! The doctors here are a 10/10! However, if I could give a rating for the people who pick up the phone to schedule you an appointment, I would give 0/10. Three receptionists were the least helpful in helping me schedule a regular doctors visit and OBGYN intent. 1. When I tried to book a regular appointment, they said, " why do you want to see the doctor ?" I said it was because I hadn't gone in a couple of years, they said that I couldn't just book an appointment to see a doctor... and so I asked what were my options and they asked again, why are you seeing the doctor... they told me about "office visit" and I said sure - I was so pissed at this point. They booked me for an "office visit." Turns out: Insurance does not 100% cover "office visit." Cost $186. 2. When I went to the doctor, she wanted me to come back I. 6 months. Different receptionist argued with me that I can't just come back... I told him to read the notes, she requested I come back. He begrudgingly booked me for another "office visit." I went and she told me to go book an appointment with an OBGYN. No referrals needed. Cost $186. 3. Called the OBGYN office... she asked, "why do you need to see the doctor?" And I told her my doctor told me to go to an OBGYN. She said, "you can't just book an appointment." So then I asked, "what are my options?" Yes, there's an annoying and time consuming theme here. She booked me for a "wellness woman's visit." Cost: $0 (covered by insurance because wellness is a preventative visit). The nurse I had was condescending and judgmental, however. doctors = 10/10 Experience on booking an appointment = 0/10“

Even though it's farther away from me, the place is amazing. There's lots of free open parking, the medical building looks amazing, but most importantly, I love my new doctor, Dr. Gore! She's patient and really listened to my concerns well. She took her time with me and I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr. Gore really cares and I felt heard. It's a one stop shop for lab, radiology, and doctor's visit.“

Except when many appointments are made so closed to each other, sometimes appointments are scheduled at the same time for different patients and the wait is 1 hour for us to see the doctor with appointment. I myself with an infant, now is a toddler have had frustrated waiting time in the front door.“

Sharp also recently switched to a new browser and mobile app. I was skeptical at first, but the new app allows *both* parents to see every child's medical records, and the phone staff for pediatrics were empowered to help me set it up-- no separate line or call center for IT. It was the best experience for a patient IT issue that I have had in over 10 years. Good job Sharp!“

“I'm 67 and have had medical issues throughout my adult life. This is by way of saying I've seen MANY doctors, some utterly wonderful and more than a few that were less than stellar or downright terrible. So it goes... My experience at UCSD Health in Rancho Bernardo ranks among the best care I've received. There are many specific and little pieces that make up the mosaic of care. Here are a few: 1. I have yet to wait more than 10 minutes to be called into the exam room. 2. Upon entering the exam room, I'm immediately met with a nursing assistant that examines me, takes my BP, temp, asks questions, is warm, friendly and human. 3. Regarding taking BP, the nurse always waits 5-10 minutes before activating the cuff to take reading, giving me time to relax, suggesting that I take some calming, unhurried breaths. In all the years I've seen doctors and had countless BPs, I've never had a nurse take such time and care. It's always been, sit down, slap on the cuff and take the reading. 4. After nurse has finished, my PCP (an actual medical doctor, not an NP) comes in almost immediately. 5. PCP also takes her time, asking lots of questions, listening intently to my responses, asking follow-up questions, digging into my extensive chart, outlining a well-explained and cogent plan for bettering my health. 6. On my first visit, both the nurse (always the same one, which is nice for a sense of continuity of care) and my PCP had prepped for my visit by reading through what I know are extensive health records. My PCP had clearly absorbed much of my medical history as evinced by her comments and questions. She spent a full hour with me, going over my health concerns and needs and laying out what we'd be working on in subsequent appointments. 7. PCP communicates via MyChart messages, letting me know about test results and points of concern. Upshot: I feel utterly cared for; I feel that my well-being matters and that my provider(s) care and are invested in my journey to improve my health. I really can't think of anything even remotely critical or negative to say. I've had only one other physician I can say the same the same about. I can't speak for the other providers at this clinic, only about my own experience. So far, everyone I've dealt with has been very helpful, kind and professional.“
