“LOCATED ON MERCY ROAD, JUST OFF I-15 Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center is conveniently located in the Canyon Hill strip mall on Mercy Road, just off the I-15 freeway. (It shares the strip mall with a gas station and is just across from a KFC). There is plenty of parking and there is easy access in and out. It's very convenient for the surrounding areas of PQ, Scripps, Sabre Springs, Carmel Mountain, Mira Mesa, Carmel Valley, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, Ramona, Miramar and Poway. REFERRAL I was referred to the office and after experiencing some back and neck pain for months and having had many visits to a DIFFERENT chiropractor that I was not happy with, I gave Dr. LaHood a call. CLEAN, MODERN, PROFESSIONAL, POLITE & FRIENDLY The office is spotlessly clean, very modern, minimal and pleasantly decorated, with calm music playing. The receptionists greet you in a very friendly and professional manner. Dr. LaHood comes across as quite reserved, but is extremely professional and you can tell he's passionate about what he does. THERE'S A PLAN After an initial evaluation, which included an x-ray, Dr. LaHood suggested a 3-month 'plan of action'. Not being on insurance (paying out of my own pocket), it was expensive, but I decided to go for it and I payed in 3 credit card installments. THEY REMIND YOU OF APPOINTMENTS BY TEXT Blocks of appointments were made in advance, starting off with twice weekly visits and then going down to once a week visits after a while. (Note: They're closed Thursdays). They send you a reminder text the day before your visit, which is nice. They run very on time and apologize if they do happen to run a few minutes late. (Which is rare, in my experience). Each visit was approximately 20 minutes. I found their appointment system to be quite flexible if something came up and I had to reschedule. WHAT DO THEY DO? I've been to several chiropractors over the last 35 years and it seems as if they all do their 'thing' a little differently. Dr. LaHood doesn't do the 'cracking and twisting' type approach. Rather, he has a machine (a 'Pro Adjuster') that he uses to assess your spine on each visit and then uses it to adjust you. He may also lay you on a low massage table (face down) and use a massager on you. Also offered is spinal decompression while laying face-up on a massage type table and deep heat red light laser therapy. I had the same treatments on every visit. I recommend Dr. LaHood and his team at Advanced Chiropractic.“

“My sister has PACE and I take her to her appointments. We are finding it very confusing, our last appointment with the PA was fine
She was very thorough and took a lot of time but couldn't give us detailed instructions how to make follow up appointments and we were expected to see other providers this appointment that we weren't planning on and didn't have time for. I later tried to make new appointments and had to call back several times before I could get through and one department I was unable to reach a scheduler. Now we've been contacted by someone for imaging, who gave us a link online to schedule the appointment and the link is unusable. PACE is for older, low income people. My sister would never be able to navigate this on her own and I'm having a hard time. I am a retired registered nurse and find the system not user friendly. However the staff when we were in the clinic were very friendly and seemed competent.“
