USSD San Carlos made me fall in love with martial arts. Sensei Andrew is an exceptional person and the whole team works hard to provide a great experience for student students of all ages.
Sensei Andrew has been great. My son has been taking classes for years and now that he is older I have joined him. The belt progression under Andrew is outstanding for the kids both in terms of discipline/development and fun. As an adult, it has been a stimulating learning experience and made me much stronger and more flexible.

The group classes offer plenty of partner practice and sparring as well as traditional forms. The dojo is well-equipped and clean. The head instructor, Andrew, is a fantastic teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge to share. If you want to learn self-defense with roots in traditional martial arts, this is the place to do it.
