“Sometimes you come across a person/business that restores your faith in humanity! We had a really large tree branch come crashing down onto our house in the latest storm associated with the CA atmospheric river. We asked a couple of arborists to come by to look at the situation. After talking about the situation with me and viewing pictures, Jason (Bartlett, Portola Valley) said the job could probably be done by a skilled gardener, offered instructions as to how to take the branch down safely, and added that it would probably cost a lot if we hired an arborist (including his company). He then offered to come by in the late afternoon/early evening to see it in person. When he arrived, he quickly took the branch down himself with his chain saw and left it in smaller, disposable pieces. He said there was no charge! Needless to say, we will use this company in the future for any tree needs we have and recommend that any one reading this review do likewise.“

“Brothers Service Tree Care just pruned nearly 30 trees on my property and did an outstanding job from beginning to end.The project started with a free estimate from Angel, their arborist. Compared to talking with other arborists, I felt much more confident in Angel's knowledge of trees and recommendations for their care. Angel did a great job of explaining the why behind his recommendations and walked me through how the work would be done. Angel and the front office (Monserrat) were super responsive to my follow up requests and questions before we finalized the agreement.As discussed, Angel stopped by with the crew on the day of the job slightly early to do a walk through with my wife and me to make sure our expectations were clear. In the walk through, he noted a few extra plants that needed some trimming and kindly offered to take care of those for no extra charge.Within a day, his crew did a beautiful job of topping off and thinning out a lot of overgrown trees. A few months afterwards, I used Thomas Allen tree service to remove a tree in the front yard. At the time, Thomas provided excellent value and service. He was responsive to my request for an estimate, on time, ready to start work immediately, and gave a very reasonable quote. I was extremely satisfied with Thomas' work on my front yard tree so when one of the tree stumps in the back yard that was supposed to be killed began to recently grow back I knew who to call. Again, Thomas was responsive, on time, available to start work when I needed, and provided reasonable pricing. “Juan and his team did a fantastic job on my backyard renovation. I can't say enough good things about Juan and would highly recommend him for any landscaping work. Mine was a major backyard renovation. We live in the hills of Belmont, which means to even access our backyard, you had to climb up a steep hill from our side yard. Half of our backyard was made up of a large hill, leaving us with little usable space. We wanted to remove the hill in our backyard, put up a new retaining wall (the old retaining wall has been there since the 60s and contains toxic materials), and install artificial turf. We've gotten a handful of quotes before being referred to Juan. Some folks quoted us double the price Juan gave, some had no experience doing such major renovations, and others just flat-out refused to do such hard work. Juan was knowledgeable and responsive, did not illegally require half of the payment up-front just to get on his schedule, and we felt more comfortable given that he was referred to us by our gardener (we've heard plenty of horror stories where contractors took the money and left the project unfinished, so reliability is #1 for us). We were able to get on Juan's schedule the next week. Juan and his team worked really hard, Monday through Saturday. This was really some of the toughest work imaginable: They have to use jack hammers and various hand-held tools to remove a hill made out of stone, then chisel the remaining hill to make it straight and leveled for the new retaining wall. Because all the houses here are built so closely together, backhoes and dump trucks could not access our yard. Juan's team had to use wheelbarrows to haul out all the concrete and rocks out by going down our steep side yard hill. Likewise, all the heavy wooden posts, retaining wall planks, bags of cement, all had to be manually carried up our side yard hill. Juan did the job perfectly and finished in one month. He didn't cut any corners in order and continued working diligently until the job was fully finished. He really went above and beyond by removing as much of the hill as possible to give us the biggest backyard space we could get. Our yard is beautiful! I look forward to working with him again on our next project.“
