Eloy and team have been working on our kitchen, opening it up, installing a peninsula, and making it match the first half of the kitchen, which was already-finished a few years ago. We knocked out a wall, installed a beam, cabinets, outlets, pendant- and under-cabinet lights, and then also replaced a window with a sliding door + concrete stairs. It's made an amazing change to the way we're able to use the house. The cabinets, which had to match the already-finished side of the kitchen, were delayed by supply chain - no problem, Eloy and team waited patiently. When the cabinets arrived, they were back on the job. The finished product looks great, and we're very happy with the work. Pricing and communication has been very fair, and the team who shows up to the house to work are polite, well put-together, and diligent at their work. They do good structural and good finishing work - the city inspectors have all liked it, too. Thumbs up all around.
Eloy and his crew did a great job for my project in San Francisco! He and his team handled numerous things for me including bathroom/kitchen/lighting/fireplace removal/furnace work etc (including permitting!). Overall, I recommend him!! Pros: - Handles permitting/inspection/etc easily (esp in SF!) - He is hands-on and helps expedite work himself - His pricing is fair and he charges only what is on the agreed document (unless you change). He also did a few extra things for me to keep me happy :-). - When he gives you a time... he's on-time! - Crew is always wearing "Moreno construction" clothes - Quality of work seems pretty good (no issues so far, but I have confidence if something broke he'd come back and fix it) - Cleans up fairly well after each day - Trust him to work without being present - He was a referral to me from a work colleague Room for improvement: - Work sometimes moves a bit slower if Eloy himself is not around (though timing was not a big issue in my project) - He probably could have communicated/checked-in with me more often to make me feel better about progress/decisions (his personality is very independent and he will bias towards just moving forward).
My daughter recently completed a house renovation, and I was so impressed with the quality of the work by Moreno Construction that I also hired him for my own house renovation. I observed week to week progress of his team's work, and everything was on schedule. Choosing a general contractor can be hit or miss, but going with Moreno Construction is definitely a hit. As always with construction projects, minor hitches are inevitable, but Eloy was always in contact, easy to reach, and provided quick solutions to every construction hurdle. His crew is also very professional, helpful, and trustworthy. I definitely recommend Moreno Construction if you're considering any projects in the future.
