    On this coming 4th of July, I reflect on how much has been lost and gained in the United States, and so I sit and reflect at the places that mean so much to me.

    Coming from a military family, I hope the lessons learned make us pause and think.
    So here we stand, my wife and I in the middle of the golden gate national cemetery.

    Here we visit, and we ponder the course of this nation. We visit what I call the "brass ridge". Here there are so many generals and admirals buried here, but not forgotten.     Beautiful place. No pets allowed. Went here with our dog because we couldn’t find any info on if it was allowed, but this sign was at the front saying no pets (and no recreation / jogging / biking).

    My mother used to work at Golden Gate national cemetery when we lived in San Bruno in the late 1950`s. We children would play there as kids sometimes. Now she is buried there. A very peaceful place...... read full review
