What is it that can be said about UCDavis transplant clinic? They are really professional and care extremely about the patients here. I started coming here back in 2007 and I have not regretted that decision. My doctors name is Dr De Mateo, and he I believe is also the medical director. He is soft spoken and very gentle. He listen to what you have to say as a patient. He is truly a one of a kind when it comes to doctors. The other staff members are very nice as well. I've never had any problems with the transplant staff. They are pretty cool.. The office is in the Cypress building, which is on Stockton Blvd. It is always clean, with lots of walking room as well as sitting space and I must say the temperature is always right for the season. Most offices are cold no matter what time of year it is! The wait to be seen is never long, I'm usually in and out within 30 minutes. Now the parking is another issue. You have to pay to park in the front parking lot, and they don't have a lot of spaces available because many of them are handicapped. But they do have the parking garage that is close by. I feel like I'm in good hands here and I'm glad I'm apart of UCDavis health system..
I donated a kidney Dec. 2012. The surgeon and nurses were great, however the follow ups after the transplant did not happen as they had stated. They seem to forget about the donor. The periodic blood work to check the health status for the donor as promised before the donation were very dissapointing. When they did finally order testing they would not pay the labs so you would get notified and have to bug them to finally pay for the lab test every time it was done. This did not help my credit reports!
