“TLDR: This place is amazing. The shop owner and his wife are very sweet and I think I might have found my tattoo artist soulmate Skyler. Great experience, beautiful work and amazing personalities. I don't normally write reviews, but the experience has been stuck in the back of my head so hopefully it'll convince you to come check them out. Booking Process: Skyler had a last-minute opening through his Instagram and I was able to snatch it. He was very responsive and his enthusiasm and passion are evident even in the way he messages. He had a killer deal because he wanted to tattoo a certain style. I gave him some ideas of what I wanted included in the piece and he was able to have custom artwork for an upper arm piece done by my appointment less than two days later! I wanted to include dog skulls in the piece to represent my own dogs and he even went so far as to research skull reference pictures that were closest to their breeds (he found a chihuaha/mini poodle mix skull!). I didn't see the art until the consultation, but I was in love right away. Skyler has a great eye for composition, the elements blended seamlessly. He also placed the stencil perfectly on the first go. Location/Shop: Unfortunately, the shop is not in the safest location. I've lived in South Sacramento, so I'm familiar with the area. However, the inside of the shop itself is a stark contrast from it's surrounding area. Great natural lighting, clean and inviting. There are plants and artwork everywhere. The environment I'm in has a large impact on my mood and experience and I have no complaints there. Vibes: I feel like Skyler and I hit it off right away (if you're reading this, I hope it wasn't one-sided). He is such a cool, friendly guy and I felt at ease the entire time. We had comfortable silences, casual conversation and good laughs here and there. He was very accommodating and attentive. I messaged him the day of the appointment if we could start earlier and he happily obliged. His car actually got swiped in the parking lot during the appointment, but he took it like a champ. He took care of it quickly and returned to work with cool composure. I have no complaints about my experience with Skyler. I'm not sure if I could go to another tattoo artist again. Not just for the tattoo quality (which is amazing), but the overall experience. I was on cloud 9 for quite a while after the tattoo and have been fiending for the next session. Also got to meet the owner while his wife (who just finished her apprenticeship, congrats!) tattooed someone else. The owner was working on a sick painting. We chatted a bit and he seemed like a really cool, friendly person. I didn't get to talk to his wife, but her client seemed at ease and happy with her tattoo. If everyone else who works here is the same, then I don't think you'll have any negative experience with customer service. Tattoo: Loving my tattoo so far! We've only gotten about 3 hours in, but it's already looking sick! I love Skyler's style and his attention to detail is amazing! Great lines and shading. Pictures attached speak better than words. Looking forward to getting many more in the future. I had actually planned to do a back tattoo with another artist, but am now possibly losing that deposit to work with Skyler instead. I have so much trust in Skyler that in the future, I'd like for him to go ham on my right leg and freehand whatever he wants. Skyler was efficient and I had very minimal pain. We took maybe one fifteen minute break over the three hours. Overall: Hopefully this helps you decide to come here! 100/10. Coming again and again.“

“See Jacob for your piercing needs! My 8 year old daughter was finally ready to get her ears pierced, but was terrified of the pain. Jacob was so incredibly kind, gentle, and reassuring to her. He talked her through every step of the process and she didn't even flinch when he pierced her ears! He is remarkably knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. Jacob gave us detailed instructions on how to keep the piercings clean and even had cleaning spray for purchase at the shop. We were impressed with his high level of professionalism. I cannot recommend him enough!! Thank you Jacob for making this such a positive experience for my daughter!

“We have been coming to the shop for years on random occasions. I'm newly disabled and just celebrated my one year anniversary of surveys catastrophic medical emergency. Yes that is dramatic as it sounds and deserved to be commemorated with a tattoo. I have not only lost most of my ability to balance, but part of my mouth is also paralyzed. I contacted the shop via facebook/instagram message and explained I could not call and my situation. I began texting Ezra and we set up an appointment. He never once made me feel like a bother or a burden and his communication with me was great! I hate being a pest and he never made me feel like that. The tattoos are beautiful! He did not make me feel dumb for my lame sense of humor and He treated me like my normal self, not a broken version of me, which was amazing! “Shout out to tony for getting me and my sisters in and the work was great super flexible and reasonable.
The only thing that sucked was the guys attitude at the end who checked us out.
This is a cash only tattoo parlor and we were paying with cash well he got extremely rude with us when we all needed $10 change back and said I’m not the damn bank which just ruined a very special moment for us since we got tattoos to commemorate the first time ever all of us had been together and the first time ever all of us had been together at one time with my granny and it was my granny’s birthday so it was a very sour taste left after that but I won’t let one rude employee ruin the rating of the tattoo shop itself but he needs to have better manners.“

“Dying Breed is the place to go hands down. I've been to a few tattoo shops in Sacramento area but the artists at dying breed are not only welcoming & friendly but very knowledgeable about their services they offer (not just tattoos but piercings, teeth whitening & gemstones etc.). They will work with you to provide you exactly the services you're looking for. I have had quite a few tattoos done here, as well as a few piercings all of which have been exceptional work & I am very happy with. Brandon the owner takes great care of his clients & provides exceptional realism black & grey artwork. This guy is a veteran at what he does so well worth the price for anyone looking to get any sleeve or large artwork done. Adnan has done the majority of my tattoos for a very fair price. He is experienced in his line of work as well coming from a painting background he has transitioned his skill & technique to tattooing & has done some exceptional work in which I will include in this review. I plan to get the rest of my leg sleeve completed by him in the coming months. Not only am I satisfied with his work but also him taking the time to work with me about the exact design I was looking for & brainstorming with me & Brandon about what would be best & look the best for my leg sleeve. Adnan was up front about the pricing for the work, took his time to provide quality work & even staying late some of the session to complete what needed to be done so I didn't have to come back extra days. His focus on the work he was providing was phenomenal & I could not ask for a better artist & service to be done. Brandon, Ado & Jordan have all become good friends of mine since going to Dying Breed & I 10/10 highly recommend Dying Breed for any of these services you're seeking. Additionally, I have to comment on the cleanliness of the shop & attention to sanitary requirements the artists take into consideration. Not only is the shop clean & spotless, but the vibes & whole atmosphere of the shop is great. You will not be dissapointed.“

“The experience my wife and I had with Bill was amazing. He is extremely hospitable, knowledgeable and easy to work with.
We had a previous session with Tiry (who is no longer associated with the shop) that didn’t go well. Bill went out of his way to personally do a tattoo that not only covered up the mistake of Tiry but looks incredible. “I highly recommend Jesse at the Midnight Gallery! I was excited and anxious to get my first tattoo and the gallery was the perfect combo of clean, modern, and comfortable. Jesse was very friendly and professional. We had exchanged emails about the concept of my tattoo and at the appointment we went over the design he prepared and it was perfect! We looked at different placements on my back and we agreed the center was balanced and beautiful for the design. Jesse checked-in with me throughout the tattoo to make sure I was comfortable and doing ok. It took about 3.5 hours but between talking with Jesse and honestly feeling pretty relaxed, the experience went by so fast. Jesse cleaned up and wrapped the tattoo and thoroughly went over aftercare. Overall it was a great experience and I’m over the moon about the tattoo Jesse created! Very grateful❤️“
