Just wanted to say, the staff are very kind and took good care of my senior mom while she had an appointment. She was waiting to be picked up and she was treated like a family member while she waited. They went above and beyond to help her.
I have been getting my hair colored and syled there for a number of years by a woman named Jackie. She is the best. Not only is she the best hair stylist ever I have a disability and I have a hard time getting up and down on the chair and other things. She is always there to lend me a helping hand if need be. That makes 10 to me.
I went in as a walk-in. Two ladies were busy with female customers and a man was working on a male customer. One of the ladies looked up and asked, "Can I help you?" in an irritated manner. I told her I was a walk-in and wanted a shampoo and haircut. She said alright and take a seat. About 5 minutes later, the other lady came and got me. So the whole experience was just ok, but there were 3 things that kind of bothered me. First, the lady didn't converse with me much, which was fine by me. But when she did converse with me, she asked if I had kids. I told her no. She continued on her conversation that my life must easy because I don't have kids. She said this at least three times. Seriously?? My life is easy? Woman, you don't even know me (and if you did, you would use any word to describe my life but "easy"). The haircut itself was fine but the styling left a lot to be desired. I realize I didn't pay extra for styling but still, I expected them to want their customers to look their best when they leave the salon. The blow drying was very half-assed. My hair looked kind of poofy and I wish she had directed the hair dryer downwards repeatedly to smooth out my hair for a polished look. When she was done, I commented that the styling made my hair look poofy and dry. She then offered a leave-in conditioner. I said, "Great!" And you know what? She literally spritzed the end of my hair two times, and she half-pumped the spray so very little came out. I had the strongest sense that she was too stingy to use her product on my hair. At the check-out, I pulled out my credit card to pay. I can't really explain this but there was kind of sigh or reaction from her when she saw this. I'm convinced she was not happy that I was using a credit card instead of paying cash. (There was a sign at the counter stating they would not accept credit cards for anything under $15.) That was such a turn off. I initially put "0" tip on the credit card slip, but then I felt bad and decided to give her a cash tip. I didn't have any change except a $5 bill so I gave it to her. She barely said thanks, didn't look at me, and greeted her next customer. I can't tell you how badly I wanted to take my tip back. I will never come back to this salon.
