At first dentist and staff were very friendly. Then the dental staff had some changes and things went south very quickly. I arrived for my appointment and checked in. After the appointment I was shown the back exit of the office. The new receptionist ran out into the parking lot stating " you have to see me first! You can't just leave without checking with me" She insisted that I return with her and was talking trash to me. There wasn't any reason for her rude behavior. Went to get services and ortho work up and when I asked how much the insurance would cover, they said that they wouldn’t know until they contact the insurance. I was cancelling the ortho work up because I thought they would charge and I was told that the insurance would cover and I would not have yo pay anything so I got the work up done. Just got smacked with a $150 bill and called the office where they just said that the insurance did not cover their 100%. So because their percentages don’t add up, I’m stuck with the bill as confirmed by the receptionist at RiverLake Family Dentistry. I love my dentist! Let me start by saying I am not a fan of tooth workers. They scare me more than Freddy Krueger, Jason, and Pennywise. However, the staff and Dr. Garland put all my fears and phobias to rest. The atmosphere is professional and friendly. The balance is what give a calming effect to those that enter this business. During the COVID pandemic, this team was posed for the transition so that we as patient would feel safe to receive the dental care needed to thrive. Be prepared to learn through warm conversation with Dr. Garland about how to increase or maintian your oral health.
