Sutter is great with the following exception - Emergency Room. If you are admitted you first have to wait a very long time in the ER rooms. Some of these rooms are little more than in the halls with no doors. The personnel working these back rooms do a terrible job of respecting their patients. Instead, you will be ignored and treated like you are invisible while they sometimes talk, laugh, yell and waste time doing nothing. It's like a party atmosphere for them and I can't imagine any hospital administrator allowing so much "socializing" and "partying" while people admitted are so sick and trying to rest. The days of Sutter being a superior care facility have gone by the wayside. The care providers are top notch. Most of the supporting staff is excellent. There are a few exceptions. Much of the wait areas, hospital floor and exam areas are deficient. I won't drone on about the miserable ER. A true blemish. Sutter over time has focused on expanding their footprint and obviously executive compensation over the facilities and the customer experience. I'm not a fan.
I had out-patient surgery this summer at Sutter General and had excellent care. I cannot say enough good things about my visit here. Real professionals who are caring and considerate. Thank you all!
