I am an "older" person (well, not that old). I took up PIANO again and found Demetri. Although on his website he doesn't talk much about teaching piano, he is an excellent piano instructor as well. Demetri has a way of explaining theory and tempo that makes it understandable. I have had several of those "Ah Ha!" moments. What is so evident is his love of music and passion for sharing it with others. Demetri is so encouraging and he makes his lessons fun.

My Son, Caleb (18) has been taking guitar lessons with Demetri for about 7 years now. They have worked on fun stuff like breaking down popular rock songs, but they have also done a ton of work on music theory. Specifically Demetri has worked out Mel Bay duets with Caleb, and has even worked on Caleb's Whitney High Jazz Band materials, preparing Caleb for school performances. Demetri offers a nice balance of guitar/music lessons like a real teacher, counter-balanced with a "young at heart" still loves rock n roll real world touch. Your kids may go just so they can play ac/dc guitar riffs, but they will learn a lot in the process too! Fun and effective!
