“This is my second time going to visit this cemetery, it's so peaceful and it's old but it definitely has character. After the rain everything is so green and full.. love looking at the tombstone and reading the history of some of the people buried there, very interesting. Some of the gravestones are damaged but they look like they are trying to restore most of them“

“My great- grandparents have been there since 1974 and 1986. I remember going there in '74 as a 3 year old. It was a place I could go and still have a picnic with my great- grandmother. Then, my father passed away in 1994. David Chavira, Jr. His death was traumatic. He was oy 49,; it was unexpected. My good friend Francis A. Zalada psssed away in 2000 at the age of 30. Heartbreaking. My uncle iand aunt are laid to rest next to my father. As the years have gone by, it's always been a source of comfort to go and sit awhile with my loved ones. I've met so many nice people and shared our stories of grief and joy. No other cemetery that I have visited has ever had so many visitors on the weekend. Families hanging out woth their loved ones , enjoying a picnic or bringing mariachis. To those who say it's not nice because decorations are thrown out: the office is always willing to let you know when they pick items up. It used to be by a certain day of the week, except during the Christmas holidays. When I go, I bring garden shears and trim around the stone and clean it with vinegar and water. It works nicely. I have been to many cemeteries in my time and this one is the one with the most consistent family interaction. I miss my dad every day. I'm glad he's surrounded by love.“
