Dr. Flores (aka, Dr. Jim) is a fantastic doctor and one of the most naturally kid friendly pediatricians we have ever met! We were looking for someone who was close to us, thorough and detail oriented, knowledgeable and experienced, and possessing a kind and engaging bedside manner. Dr. Jim is all of those things! He takes plenty of time to listen to and address all of our concerns and then asks us important questions about possibilities we had never even considered. We really appreciate that we are talking to an obvious expert who is actively drawing upon his years of experience to help us. He has a quick memory for detail and patient history like you would not believe, which makes us feel like we are always getting exactly the advice and specific care we need for our little one as an individual. Also, I saw a couple of the other reviewers had trouble with his office several years ago. We have only had the best experiences with the office staff. They all seem to be a lot like Dr. Jim - kind, caring, thorough, and detail oriented.

We are new to Dr. Flores office, but I am so, so happy we found him for our son. (My daughter also goes to this office but she sees a female doctor). If you are looking for a kind, caring pediatrician he is a wonderful choice. I was so impressed with the time he spent talking to my son about his interest, physical sports activities my son is involved with, his mental and physical wellbeing each time we visit Dr. Flores. He truly genuinely care about my kids; not just going thru the motion....we had experienced doctors office where it feels rushed and you are not heard. We have had to visit Dr. Flores about six times in just over two months and we are always able to: 1) get an appointment as quickly as possible 2) his staff is quick to get back to you...I never have to follow up with calls to their office 3) they are accommodating and efficient. I just love his office and staff. They are there when you need them the most...emergency situations. Case in point: My son had an emergency surgery for a potential life-threatening medical condition. At the initial onset of pain, I didn't know what was wrong so I called Dr. Flores' office. Explain the symptoms and situation and they recommended I immediately go to ER. Their office didn't waste valuable time having us go their office then referring us to ER. I have had other similar experience and it was a lot of wasted time and copay. Long story short, we ended up at E.R. and had spent 7 hours in triage center ER Torrance Memorial and the final conclusion was he needed surgery. While waiting for my son to be prepped for surgery, post surgery and when we got home, I got a total of four calls from Dr. Flores office to follow up and to check up on my son. They schedule my son for a post surgery appt to see Dr. Flores and to make sure he was recovering well. My son ended up having some infection around the incision site so we saw Dr. Flores immediately and he got him on antibiotics which helps my son recovery faster without further complications. I highly recommend Dr. Flores as a healthy practitioner. He's a local to our community so he knows the ends and outs of the school districts and the health environiment i.e., health issue outbreaks, etc. .He's a parent so he understands all about the trials and tribulations of parenting which helps when you are dealing growing kids and their issues. You really can't go wrong with his office.

Smart doctor with good bedside manner. Feels like he cares. Makes effort to make you feel heard. Nurses are competent; could be more personable. May be because they often seem new and green and are nervous? Have had unpleasant and harsh experiences with front staff which made me leave the clinic. But they have gotten a little better with their attitudes which is why I am back. Tried a bunch of other doctors in the Torrance/Lomita/PV area, but still prefer Dr. Flores. So I guess I'll have to put up with the front desk...
