Sabrina Higby, CPA took our money and confidential documents to prepare and file our 2021 taxes. She never produced our typical packet with completed forms or any evidence of filing. She failed to return calls and inquires. We received a notice from the franchise tax board that we had not filed and were facing penalties. When we again attempted to get answers she ghosted us and did not respond to calls or emails for help or to refund our money and documents. She did the same to our parents and brother. Associates of hers confirmed that she did not file our returns despite taking payment for this service. That is fraud and theft. I reported her to the IRS using the form 14157-A or Tax Return Preparer Fraud or Misconduct Affidavit and form 14157: Return Preparer Complaint. I also sent them a copy of the Venmo money transfer confirmation with her name on it. YOU ALL CAN ALSO REPORT HER.
Last year I finally got tired of missed deadlines and broken promises and went to their office and picked up my paper and took it elsewhere. I'm not surprised she is no longer in business......
Like many of others that have written a review about Higby Advisors, I too have been using her services for 20+ years. I have always been satisfied with her services up until last year. Something just did not seem right, and the people working for her were rude and unprofessional. I had no idea that she has closed her door's until I saw these reviews. To say this unprofessional is an understatement! Like many of the reviews I've read on this site, I would not even give her 1 star, but I had to in order to post a review.
