My appointment at a nearby Black barbershop got canceled so I found Nappy Roots. Luckily they were able to see me on the fly. Ray was kind, gave me the cut I wanted and was a perfectionist about getting it right with no agenda but to do a great job. (I'll add that, as a queer person, I don't always feel welcome in many barbershops, especially when asking for a cut that affirms my particular gender expression. This shop was low key, homey, friendly and professional.) I've been to two other Black barbershops in Riverside and this is the only one I've left feeling confident about my cut and their service. I will return again and again. Please everyone, support this business!

I want to give a special thank you to Ray The Man, owner of Nappy Roots. I am visiting from out of state and needed a place that would allow me to sit under the dryer. Blessing was extremely accommodating. He offered me use of his dryer as many times as needed throughout my visit. His shop is very clean and organized. He was attentive and ensured I was comfortable. He provides his clients and crew with a professional and fun environment. I would definitely recommend his barbershop/salon. Great location! Thanks again!
