We recently did a total house remodel with them and I have to say they are honest, communicative, do fantastic and very high quality work. And are generally very good people.

For 2 years, we worked with Lawrence Construction on a high-end remodel project in North Berkeley. The original house was a 1400 sqft split-level 2 br / 1 ba, originally built in 1936, which we converted into a 3000 sqft modern house.Tom, Jason and Michael were great to work with, and I particularly appreciate their attention to detail, and devotion to quality. Friends I talk to who have gone through remodel projects complain about shoddy work, ill-fitting details, and bad execution. Lawrence Construction is the opposite: Everything fits, everything works, and if it doesn't, they fix it. Mr. Lawrence is well-known for poor quality work. Community members in Point Sausalito refer to Mr. Lawrence as “being Matthew’d” ($85 per hour and the poor quality work takes 2-3x as long as a more expensive professional). Among his final acts under his current (last) contract, Mr. Lawrence rinsed gallons of raw sewage down two flights of stairs out to the public road, flushing it illegally into the Bay. He showed no concern for resident health or safety and no concern for polluting the Bay. Today, a fire marshal came and reviewed a damaged staircase (Mr. Lawrence “fixed” it in February 2019 and as of July 3, 2019, it remains a hazard). Strongly caution anyone... read full review
