Yelp hadn't been invented when Al Loera did our remodel, otherwise I would have left a review earlier. We worked with Al 18 years ago to add 1300 feet on the 2nd floor of a one-story 3-bedroom 1962-era tract home in Rancho Palos Verdes. We had a very good experience with Al. He is creative and easy going and a joy to work with. We still get compliments on his designs and love living in our home.

I just picked up stamped, approved plans for the third project that Al Loera has designed for me over the years.The first was a big remodel in Hermosa Beach in 1998, then a full tear down and rebuild in Hermosa Beach 2003, now our latest a fixer upper in Redondo. Al has a laid back personality covering his perfectionist professional persona. He is known and respected in the city planning offices, where his guidance is valuable, and his detailed plans are smoothly processed. He also has partnerships in the trades, including a structural engineer and a few designers to help you move through the entire process.

My wife and I used Loera for a complete redesign of our home in the Hollywood Riviera. Our house has good bones, but needed some rooms reconfigured and we wanted to change the overall look and feel of the home. John (Al) and Dylan were terrific to work with. After we hammered out a working design, Loera listened to our suggestions and requests and tweaked the design into something that we think we will be very happy with. Once we had a solid plan, Loera Designs handled all the structural engineering, Title 24 compliance and navigated us through the Planning Commission and Building and Safety department.
