The review is strictly for their handling and job at clipping dogs' nails. I've never used them for anything else. After trying a handful of different dog groomers in my county, and realizing none of them are actually there for people with the normal 9 to 5:00, and the Aquarium pet store in Red Bluff verbally abusing my dog when he was terrified during the first nail cutting for him I ever did outside of a vet office, I realized I had to leave my County entirely. Luckily, Kathy's was the first place I found in Shasta County that had hours suitable for the average working adult, and I've never gone anywhere since. I've used them, I think three maybe four times now, and even though my dog is absolutely terrified at anything that has to do with animal care outside of our home, I still bring him here every time as his fear has nothing to do with them. They handle him well, even if he pees on the table due to his intense fear. They let me hold him while they do his claws, which was never offered by any other groomer I've been to with him. They are very patient and talk calmly and keep praising him, and even though he wants absolutely nothing to do with them after, I fully trust bringing him there opposed to the abusive place in red bluff. I will always come here as long as they are open on saturdays. They don't need or take appointments just for a nail trimming and even with my terrified dog it takes about 12 minutes absolute Max and I'm sure the average dog would take no less than 10 and it's usually like $11. Never had anything besides kind, professional, and patient people here. I live in this area, so I know how the culture is in this area with residents, and they are almost always 100% of the time the problem, not the business!
I've been taking my doggo there for almost 10 years and I absolutely adore the women that work there. They are all always so nice and actually listen to what the pet owner wants but they also make suggestions. Thank you girls! You really are the best in the north state!
We LOVE Kathy's! We have been taking our boy here for a year for baths and nails. The girls do such a great job with him. He is a rescue, and we believe had a difficult past. He is slow to trust, and does not like other people or dogs ... but he is always excited for his trips to Kathy's! That speaks volumes to me!
