Neil from ARK Owl Boxes offers some truly fantastic and beautiful products that are fully functional. I bought mine to house barn owls, and last year, he installed one on a pole with a camera inside. It was such a joy! Within months, I had owls nesting inside, and they ended up having three adorable chicks that I got to watch grow from hatchling to fledgling. It was amazing to see how they brought in all the mice, rats, and gophers they could eat, which was a huge benefit for me and my property. I highly recommend ARK Owl Boxes for their prompt customer service, well-constructed products, and effective rodent control!
We had Neil of ARK Owl Boxes construct a work of art that he calls an owl box (but is much more) and install it, in Oct. 2023. By Dec. 18th, 2023 (today) we have beautiful resident owls! So thrilled! Thank you, Neil! I do have a strong opinion, though, that the wireless cameras offered are (inadvertently) harmful to the owls - these WILL expose the owls and babies to high levels of microwave rf radiation in close proximity and therefore I did not order that, even if it would be entertaining to see the young. My goal is to enjoy the birds, not harm them.
Neil built a beautiful, large owl box and painted it to our specifications, based on his advisement. It is a work of art, not just an owl box! I've seen others made of plywood, open to the elements at one end. Not this one, see the photos! Every element was made with the utmost care, based on craftsmanship and long experience. The box was carefully sited on our property, as well. He knows a lot about owls and put that knowledge to use in the building and the siting. Neil did a fantastic job, highly recommend his unique, custom, handcrafted owl boxes w/ installation.
