“Steve did an excellent job. He took my range apart to find the problem but was unable to fix it because the part it needed is no longer available. I would hire him again for any repairs I need. Very honest and knowledgeable.“
“needed a diagnosis and repair of A/C unit during heatwave. Said, the owner, found a spot in his schedule to come out and quickly realized I needed a new capacitor which he carries in his van. All done and working in 20 minutes for a reasonable cost. Super nice guy too!“
“Reliable, well priced, knowledgeable and very helpful explaining the ins and outs of my HVAC system“
“Joel was just a lovely tech! He is extremely knowledgeable, and spent plenty of time with his inspection and subsequent report and explanation to us. Please send him to our home ANY time!“
“Mike was quick to respond and had a competitive quote the next day. Mike and his team were very professional onsite and the newly installed AC was cooling us off the same night the install started!“
“Came out quickly. Within 2 hours. Diagnosed and resolved quickly. Friendly, knowledgeable, and even answered some questions I had about my system. Fair price.
Will definitely be calling them back for future service.“
“EXCELLENT! Same day fix, I sent Don a photo and he came within 2 hours with the right parts, and patiently explained what he was doing, He repaired my furnace for $200 less than my first estimate. Thanks Don!“
“Just a quick note of thanks from us for the terrific service you, Brandon, Justin and the rest of the team provided in the installation of our heat pumps. You were are a pleasure to work with.
We’re sorry the install was so complicated and, again thank you for the extra touches and wonderful result. We respect work and remain supporters of small local businesses.“
“Fernando knew what was wrong with my old York and I gave him the name, the fix it man because he knows his business thoroughly. He went out of his way so that I would not spend another cold night in my townhouse. I will forever be grateful for his kindness and work ethics. Thanks for taking care of me. “Bernie T. C. Bryce was the first person I spoke to from the Mays Heating & Air, and he was very helpful. Matt also called us to help and offered to come over sooner for us. What a great company. Matt came by as scheduled and talked to us about our system. He was very knowledgeable and that really helped us. Matt did not even charge us for the visit. I will recommend them to anyone, and I would call them again. Thanks“
“Highly Recommend! Cesar and Jazmin were very responsive for our heater replacement needs. Had it replaced within 3 days in tricky SF home. Wonderful to work with and affordable pricing. Thanks!“
“Nate and his team were wonderful. I had a problem with my AC making very loud unusual noises. Always worried that something like this would be a big expensive job, I called Clayton Bros and they responded very quickly and immediately put me at ease.
They diagnosed the problem immediately and promptly fixed it . They explained and showed me exactly what was wrong and the price was right. I will always trust this company.“
“Chris and his team did an excellent job replacing our HVAC system. Chris runs a tight ship, he’s on time, every time. We had a special circumstance and needed him to work closely with two other contractors to do the job, and he worked very well with everyone to get the job done and done well. He and his team are also very kind and a pleasure to work with. I’m very happy we went with Devil Mountain!“
“This one absolutely a great company. I haven't hired a better company in many years. While estimating, they crawled both my attics, and my crawl space, diagramed the areas, suggested solutions that no other company had even mentioned. I had a rat infestation under my house and in both my attics. After sealing all entry areas, and replacing ruined insulation, I had to replace all my ducting because the rats had chewed through it. This is the only company that suggested I use hard aluminum ducting instead of the cheaper and now commonly used wire mesh ducting which rats can penetrate in minutes. This was more expensive but solves the issue of keeping my ducts rat proof if the little devils ever find their way in again. This company was professional, extremely polite and totally competent. They corrected all my ducts and access and registers to proper size, added air conditioning, and took care of repairs in my top attic. They added dampers after the job was done to make the best even distribution of heat. I am now warm and happy and will continue to recommend this company to all my acquaintances. “TLDR; If you're looking to electrify and/or increase your home's overall energy efficiency, hire BPP - you won't regret it. How it started: We bought our 1951 home in the summer of 2020. As the weather cooled, we realized we'd bought a cold and drafty house. You could turn the thermostat up as much as you wanted, but it didn't make a difference. When the furnace quit on us in early 2022, we decided to just ride it out wrapped in blankets while we conducted a thorough search for the best contractor to help electrify our home. We started with an energy audit from the excellent Energineers, who informed us that the walls of our home had "no insulation." We now had a clear plan of action from a company that had no stake in what we decided to do, including blowing in insulation, installing a heat-pump powered HVAC system, asbestos remediation, and electrifying our ancient, gas-powered water heater. BPP was on a list of contractors recommended by Energineers, and we are so glad we went with them. Energy efficiency is science, and we are not scientists:As new, first-time homeowners we came into this project with no understanding of the basics of HVAC and insulation, let alone more advanced topics like heat pump technology. The owner, Curtis, was beyond patient with our many questions, meticulously explaining our options. While we went with a state-of-the-art heat pump system, he never pushed us to spend more on a higher-end solution, and in fact encouraged us to consider more budget-friendly options as well. When you're electrifying your home by switching to a heat-pump powered HVAC system and/or water heater, it pays to have someone who understands electricity leading your project. Curtis was able to design a comprehensive upgrade to our electrical system that would support our new equipment. His background in electrical gave us confidence that his solution would work and was right-sized for the project. We received multiple opinions about the best way to heat our home, which had multiple challenges including being built into a hill, a partially underground lower level with concrete walls and a slab floor, and a pre-existing extension on the back of the house with questionable ductwork. Curtis recommended installing a single exterior condenser, a ducted mini-split to heat the upstairs (replacing the asbestos-wrapped ducts with new, modern, energy efficient ductwork), and two mini-split heads on our lower level. I was honestly skeptical that our entire downstairs area could be uniformly heated with two mini-split heads, but the system he designed, in addition to being priced very fairly, works like a charm. How it's going: A company can be great to work with, but when you have someone working on your home, what matters most of all, of course, is results. And BPP delivered results, far above our expectations. Energineers had promised us that if we followed their recommendations, our cold, drafty house could become warm and cozy. Deep down, we didn't really believe them. But it was true! The insulation work alone increased the temperature inside our house by nearly 10 degrees. We love having the 3 different heating zones enabled by Curtis' system, so we don't need to heat areas of the house we aren't using. And our entire house is now as warm as we want it to be. As a bonus, the heat pumps include A/C for the occasional heat wave. Rebates, Permits, PG&E, oh my:Projects like this can mean a lot of paperwork. Curtis and the office manager Kathy made the entire process painless. They took care of everything for us, helping us to get the maximum possible rebates, which cut the cost of our project by about 25%. In addition, they handled the permitting process with the City of El Cerrito, and also navigated the application and approval process with PG&E for the electrical panel upgrade. What it was like to work with BPP:Everyone at BPP was a true pleasure to work with, from Curtis and Kathy to the crew who worked on our home. Adam, Austyn, Javier, Juan and Lando w“
“They started the day we called them. Ran into existing electrical problems but they got it done within 3 days. Thanks again“
“We requested diagnosis service and they were able to come out the next day.
Would recommend to others even just for a diagnosis.
They will message you when they’re on their way and the time frame which is always good.
A few things were wrong with our AC unit outside. Ero was able to diagnose what was wrong right away and fix it. He is very informative and knowledgeable.
Their prices seemed low and budget friendly.“
“Excellent! The best of the best. First used GB Heating and AC many years ago - very professional!“
“I called Contra Costa Climate Control to fix the air conditioner at my rental in Walnut Creek. So glad I did, since I am out of state I needed a reliable, honest company. They were excellent, reasonably priced and called me with their findings and options. It is working great and my tenant is very pleased. They will be my go to AC company now. Highly Recommend!!“
“Ernesto was amazing and efficient with his work. Laid out our options and thankfully the fix was quick!“
“Choosing Eco Energy Bay Area for my HVAC needs was a wise decision. Their contractor was not only skilled but also respectful of my home. The system they installed runs flawlessly, and I'm enjoying consistent comfort without any issues. I highly recommend their services!“
“Wow, I see that my previous review is not recommended by Yelp. My previous review is something like "I want to be in Walter's van when the world ends". I thought that would convey how much I appreciated his help when I needed it..... during the horrendous hot spell of 2022's summer. Walter worked my project into a busy schedule for repair of my 50 year old air conditioner. Working on my deck in intense heat, he quickly diagnosed the issue and went to his van for a part. Fifteen minutes after arriving, he had it fixed. Pricing was, from my view, very reasonable. One and a half seasons since, and it's still running great. I had suffered a major health issue, and really needed help. I can't recommend a business more.“
“Ariel was amazing on two occasions. They are honest, transparent and efficient. They were highly recommended by my neighbour and they did not disappoint.“
“Very responsive and efficient. Luis diagnosed and fixed the airflow problem in my home. Very positive experience and good value. Thanks!“
“Mike came out on the 4th of July to assess our non functioning A/C. He was professional, knowledgeable and FAIR. Did a great job and would recommend for any AC issues!“
“This was a fantastic company! I will never use another company to service my heater! From the moment that I first called and got some initial advice from Marlon in the office, to making the appointment, and having Logan come out the next day, the professionalism, pricing, and everything else was top-notch.“
“Ramiro and Ismael did a great job on installing new furnace and duct work. They kept us in loop the whole time on our preferences for ducts and more. Michael was our project coordinator and he was available the whole time whenever we need him for questions or such. He also explained a lot before starting the job so we can make informed decision on what we want.“
