Just moved to Petaluma from SF. Had an appt today with my barber in SF. Had a terrible accident so I looked around here. Salon after salon, after salon. As many will agree, It's always difficult and risky to go to someone new. Anyway happened to drive by her shop today at 8:30 am and the door was open. Walked in with my dog. Nice place though not 'slick'. She was happy to take me. Described what I wanted and she did it very well. While I have a full head (mostly) of hair with wavy curls, I'm considered a quickie. Not a 'review' type guy but in all fairness thought I'd balance this out a bit. I'm not easy and I agree with other posters that she's not 'polished'. And the 'Nam culture showed. But I'm not there to hob nob or tell stories and bullshit. Yet she did a very good job for $20 (with tip) under what my usual guy charges. I'm happy and will continue every 6 weeks or so.
I live in the area and have noticed Kim's Cuts but never entered due to the previous reviews that I saw on this platform. I'm glad that I decided to take a chance with this place as the individual who assisted me (Ms. Mai) was very attentive and did exactly what I requested for my haircut. Would definitely recommend as this place deserves more recognition.
I just discovered this place and have gone twice, haircuts have been great! And the price is right as well. Normally a men's cut would cost me $50 but Kim only charged $20!! She does a really good job. You just need to communicate what you want. Don't listen to the other reviews!
