I used the services of this shop twice: the first to clean and repair a handmade Persian carpet, which had some moth damage. The repair went well and I had no complaints. The second time, I wanted to appraise two other Persian carpets that I was planning to sell. When I started to explain what I wanted to do on the phone, the owner interrupted me to say that they were not interested in buying. I explained that I just wanted an opinion on the value of the carpets. He offered an oral appraisal at $25 per carpet, to which I acquiesced. When I brought in the carpets, the owner complained that there was moth damage (which is correct). Having paid him the fee (in cash, at his insistence), he proceeded to give me a very abbreviated opinion without even unrolling the carpets, saying that he did not want his carpets contaminated. Interestingly enough, there was no complaint the first time I brought my rug for cleaning. All in all, while I do not dispute the expertise of the shop, I felt that I was cheated out of my money, and treated rudely and condescendingly to boot. I will never bring another rug to this shop for any reason, nor will I recommend the shop. I see from some of the other comments that I was not the only customer to be treated in this way.

I sent two area rugs to be cleaned. They were filthy and I expected to pay a lot. I have no complaint with the cleaning of the rugs. I also wanted the fringe removed. I was persuaded to also redo the edging on the sides of each rug. I am very dissatisfied with that part of the job. The binding is not very substantial and there are ragged threads hanging over it. The old binding had some heft, this does not. There is essential no barrier between the edge and the pattern of the rug. When I tried to discuss my concerns with the hitherto nice men who delivered the rugs, the senior became hostile and told me I was wrong. Then he tried to charge me twice the price he had quoted over the phone for the edging. He yelled at me never to come back to his company. I would not, nor would I recommend it to anyone. I have used this company before, so this episdoe makes me sad.

We have used Pasadena Oriental Rug to clean and repair our two hand-woven Persian carpets for many years because they always provide great service! Highly recommend using them to keep your rugs looking fresh and beautiful!
