Absolutely unethical, unprofessional & untrustworthy. Mr. Grimes was rude and sharp with my elderly mother to the point she would no longer speak with him. Ms. Penland, his assistant, established a nice relationship with my mother but then Mr. Grimes made sure he was the only one to have contact with my mother. This office even went as far as to say Ms. Penland quit working there to keep her from assisting our family. Mr. Grimes charged my parents $1,925.25 to prepare one year of taxes ( note they did not own a private business, they were retired, had no investments, straightforward, simple, tax return). Following my mother's death, Mr. Grimes held up the trust for eight months without providing a reason. Attorneys had to get involved. Mr. Grimes then demanded a Hold Harmless Agreement before he would release the trust. If you are an honest, ethical professional, why would you ever need a Hold Harmless Agreement? Please protect your family, trust, estate, and particularly your elderly parents. Absolutely I would never let anyone I care about speak with Mr. Grimes again. These are my opinions based on several years of experience and struggling with this office. I am happy to provide any and all of my documentation and email exchanges to anyone who would like to read them so you can decide for yourself if you can trust this CPA.
