Hortus Design Sustainable Landscapes

Hortus Landscapes replaced my front lawn with a beautiful drought tolerant design that looks so much better than my old lawn! I'm very happy with how my landscaping turned out, Vijaya, the owner and her crew made my vision a reality. She was on the job as the project manager everyday for many hours. Her crew was great at following her directions; they were very polite, professional, hard working and cleaned up before leaving each day. Vijaya had her crew pick up and deliver the boulders and flagstones I picked out, she directed her crew where and how to place them so they looked great and I was happy. Hortus built a custom trellis from a drawing I did. In order to get the size just right she went to my neighbors to measure their trellis so we could get a visual of the exact size to make my trellis. Since they started my job last February the nurseries didn't have a full selection of plants so they dug holes and placed empty plant containers to place the plants in when they became available. Vijaya went to several nurseries to hunt down as many of the plants I had chosen, she even drove over 100 miles twice to get the tiny tower cypress I wanted. Hortus installed path and spot lights which makes my front yard light up so beautifully at night. She also installed drip irrigation on all plants and even set up some stock tanks on the side of my yard for herb and vegetable planting. I loved working with Vijaya, she is detailed oriented and a perfectionist like me, she's very knowledgeable in horticulture as per the name Hortus, and has a passion for plants and knows a lot about medicinal herbs, she even shared some of her time honored herbal, spice recipes with me. The landscaping was installed in February, this picture shows what it looked like in July, this summer it should have a lot more color as the plants mature and grow. I got about 3 other bids and Hortus was the best value considering Vijaya's knowledge as a certified horticulturist with over 20 years in the field of landscaping. When they finished the job I was sad to see them leave, I would definitely use them again.
