Dr. McFarland at Desert EyeCare Center in Palm Springs was recommended to me by a friend who is a patient of his practice. I first saw Dr. McFarland in April 2023 to get an updated prescription for my glasses. He examined my eyes and gave me the news that I had cataracts and those needed to be addressed prior to a prescription update. He referred me to an excellent local surgeon to address the cataracts, which improved my vision greatly, but didn't fully address my astigmatism or close vision for reading. Yesterday, I decided to try Dr. McFarland as my new eye doctor, I was little afraid because of the reviews on here. But I did notice that all the reviews were older and had to do with the staff, not the doctor. So here's my review. I was greeted by Bernard when I arrived, he was very friendly, we chatted a bit until I saw the doctor. Dr. McFarland was also friendly and did a very thorough eye exam. He also went over all my issues and made sure I understood everything I need to know. I would highly recommend this office.
Desert Eye Care is pleasantly different than most optical offices in that I was able to get an appointment right away, and the service was friendly & personal. I prefer to not have my pupils dilated and there was no pressure whatsoever in this regard. I have been visiting this office for 3 years now & am quite happy doing so.
