I typically get my eye exams and glasses from Costco but decided to try Milauskas this year, which was a mistake. Costco always treats me respectfully and professionally, but my experience on May 17 at the Palm Desert office was the complete opposite. At check-in, the receptionist mumbled about the co-pay, and when I asked for clarification, she repeated herself unclearly and with attitude. I explained that I wear hearing aids and needed clarity, but she refused to answer clearly, repeating herself with indignation. I should have left then. The technician was unpleasant, scowling the entire time and not warning me before dilating my eyes. When I asked about the second round of eye drops, she finally told me they were for dilation. I didn't feel safe with her and regret not asking for a manager. No arrangements or precautions were discussed regarding the dilation. The doctor, while pleasant, had a heavy accent and was hard to understand. Despite mentioning my hearing loss, his speech remained difficult to discern. By the end of the appointment, I didn't want to continue my eye care with Milauskas and didn't discuss fulfilling my prescription. I brought these issues to them a week ago and have not received feedback. I will trust my exams and eye care to Costco. Stay away from this place.
We have been patients there for many years. They were bought out by another company. They don't tell you up front that you will have to pay 65.00 to get the results of your eye exam. So you have to pay that to get the piece of paper so you can go whoever you want to get eyeglasses. They should have told us that because we would have left. We are not going back. If you don't mind paying for your exam results than go there. The doctor is nice and competent.
My primary sent a referral to milauskas for the removal of a cyst on my eyelid. When I arrived I was charged a co-pay, although I reached my $6000 out of pocket in March (cancer). Not once, over 40 some odd appointments, including radiation, my audiologist, my ENT, my physical therapist, my primary, has anyone charged me a co-pay since March. Additionally, the appointment was for an ophthalmologist. Yet when I arrived 1 was given an eye chart exam and some exam with eye drops. While all the while I explained that I have an optometrist. They didn't care. The appointment for the cyst removal is this coming Friday. Since they filed their claim the day after I saw them last week, I have the BCBS EOB that says I owe them nothing. I will bring that with me Friday, and I'll bet they'll still charge me another co-pay
