Our experience with the medical staff has overall been very positive. Unfortunately our experience with their administrative staff and billing group has been quite poor. Most of our family’s issues have stemmed from insurance mix-ups: outside our control, our insurance coverage appeared lapsed when it wasn’t, requiring us to pay for visits/care up front (not something required by many other providers). This would be fine if John Muir gave clear direction about how to get reimbursed, but instead the front desk staff pushes it off as not their problem (sometimes offering an itemized receipt, sometimes claiming this is not possible), and the billing department has to...read full review
Today was my first visit with Dr. Morando at Pleasant Hill location. Before I was a patient of Dr. Stephen Weinstein, who recently retired. Therefore I was referred to that office to continue my care. I was hard to get an appointment due to volume of patience, and I was considering finding new OBGYN. I am very glad that I was patient and waited to see Dr. Morando. She is very personable, caring, professional and have an excellent bed side manners. I felt comfortable with her right away, which is not easy considering type of care she is providing! Office was clean and tidy. Wait time was no more than 10 minutes. Her medical staff was also friendly and caring!
This doctor is GREAT - if you can actually see her. She's caring, she listens, she's nonjudgmental, she takes her time with you. Her bedside manner is perfect. I really, really like her! But she's very hard to get an appointment with. On three different occasions now, I've waited months to see her just to have her cancel at the last minute for baby emergencies. I get it - babies are emergencies. But three times in, like, less than a year? Maybe she's got too many patients? The office doesn't seem to set aside time for things like acute and time-sensitive GYN issues, either - ie 3 weeks til you can be seen for, say, a possible infection. I'm really sad to say I'm gonna have to find a new GYN
