Being relatively new to Ojai, and 200 miles from the beautician who has been cutting my hair for the last 15 years, I took my time in choosing where to have my hair cut. Pictures and reading reviews can be helpful, but you never know. Well, I hadn't had a haircut in 2 months; I was past due! I called Hair-Em. My call was answered by Deanna and I made an appointment. Deanna took time to listen and understand how I wanted my hair cut. I wasn't sure how short I wanted my hair so she progressed a bit at a time, checking with me to see what I thought. I was so pleased with her results, I posted my before and after pictures. I felt really good about my decision to have her cut my hair and won't be waiting 2 months to have my next haircut.

Laverne is absolutely the best. My very thick, curly hair broke off and much of it fell out after an illness. I had always worn it long so it was really upsetting. Laverne figured out how to shape it so that it looked good, crazy curls and all. I now go in regularly for shaping and trimming so it looks decent while growing out. I recently started having her color it as grays coming in were not at all attractive with my color and texture. I've never colored my hair and I am so thrilled with her work.Laverne is super kind, extremely talented and the salon is clean, peaceful and attractive.
