With over 30 years of experience serving the bird community, the staff has been at the forefront of raising the standards of medicine and surgery for these unique patients. The center's new facility, opened over 10 years ago, is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment tailored specifically for birds. This allows the team to provide a quieter, bird-only atmosphere and more comfortable treatment for their patients. Clients praise the exceptional care and compassion shown by the entire staff. They saved a 47-year-old boy and were so empathetic. Visitors from near and far seek out the Medical Center for Birds, drawn by its reputation for excellence and the fact that they didn't turn away a parrot when all others did. The establishment is a blessing, and the staff is kind and diligent. Dr. Speer is so passionate about his profession that you know you've found the right place for your bird for sure. Clients looooove it here, calling them the best avian vets in California. Dr. Baden is knowledgeable and cares very much about the babies. The entire staff is wonderful, with a special shout-out to Brandy and Melody who are fantastic with the birds and their very worried parents. Tests are not cheap, but you owe them the best care possible.

From the moment we walked in, every single person was kind, calm and genuinely passionate about birds. You can feel immediately that this is a place where birds are deeply understood and truly loved. The facility itself is spotless, modern and incredibly well run. It honestly exceeded every expectation I had.

This place is life saving and awesome! They helped my conure through a scary ordeal and that saved him and me!
I called them from an emergency vet exam room, when I realized there was no one on staff at the moment who could deal appropriately with avian issues.
They found a spot to get me in right away and off I flew. I was seen promptly upon arrival by an excellent vet, Dr. Baden, who started figuring out what was wrong with my little guy and who was gracious enough to reach out to their most experienced vet and founder.
Dr. Speer, not only offered consultation, but he actually came in on his day off to help my bird!

My friends and I brought in an injured feral Khaki Campbell duck that we rescued from a nearby pond on Veterans Day, and I cannot express how grateful we are for the compassion and professionalism of the entire Medical Center for Birds team. Linda, at the front desk, was incredibly kind and got us seen right away -even without an appointment, and on a holiday.
Dr. Speer and his staff were gentle, patient, and incredibly thorough. The duck had a fishing lure hooked through her tongue, preventing her from opening her beak or eating for days.
