I just love this place. I used to dread getting a hair cut and colored but my sister recommended this salon. The owner, Denise, knew exactly what I wanted and gave me the cut I wanted. I highly recommend this place, and I think it's reasonably priced. Susie S
i am moved to write my very first YELP review for Denise who runs Redwood Hair Design. She is a local Laurel Business owner and has had her shop in my neighborhood for many years. I visited her for my own hair needs for the first time recently.... and I should have gone long ago. I believe I received the best cut and highlight of my life!! Denise took the time to understand what I wanted and needed. Her work was methodical, gentle and precise. She was determined to get the color just right (and she did). My hair is thin and fine and typically a challenge for many stylists to cut. Denise was very very careful and managed to achieve a perfect balance of length and layering to maximize volume. To top it off, her prices are super reasonable. All I have left to say is, "Please don't retire anytime soon!" and "THANK YOU DENISE!"
Lacey has done my hair, makeup for special occasions, you name it, she can do it. This is such a convenient location in Oakland; just a few blocks from my home. She has even done my makeup for photo shoots and beyond. Denise, the owner, is a sweetheart, and Maria hair stylist is also very nice. Here is a photo of a recent "doo" Lacey did for me:
