Like others, we had previously wonderful experiences with Jay (would give him 5 stars), but when we recently had a roof leak and called Jay, we got Ramos. I just learned from other reviews that Jay retired and Ramos took over (Ramos just told me he worked for Jay). Ramos was quick to come over and give us a quote, but we definitely felt fleeced ($900 to fix a leak that took him 3 hours to fix, with probably $150 worth of material). Ignorantly, we did not shop around. He fixed the leak, however, he took no effort to match the shingle colors. He personally used 3 different colors of shingles on an approximately 75 sq ft patch. Jay was a honest and excellent roofer. Unfortunately he has retired and Ramos took over this company. When we called Ramos to check the water leak, he came right a way, but did not examine the cause. Then he gave us a flat fee of $900 to repair the leak. We could not accept the fact that he did not even go up the roof. We called another roofer, Mike of Water Tite. Mike told us that our roof is good shape, and only a little water went through the skylight because the skylight opening was installed at the wrong direction. We were very glad that we did not pay $900 to Ramos.

Called for Jay's Roofing but Mr. Ramos picked up and explained that Jay has retired and has forwarded his calls to him cuz they are friends. So he gave me an estimate which was the lowest out of two other highly rated roofers on yelp. I was hesitant but Ramos Roofing simply offered a lot more at a lower cost. I am glad I made the right choice. Mr. Ramos was very professional and did everything he promised. He took out the old roof which had 5 layers, install new plywood cuz I didn't have any, install new felt and Landmark pro shingles, install new gutters, took care of dry rot, and many other things.
