About Intertribal Friendship House
The Intertribal Friendship House (IFH) in Oakland, CA is a vital hub for the Native American community. Established in 1955, it provides a safe and inclusive space for cultural programs, services, and assistance. The center offers a range of activities, including Pow wow dance classes and community potluck dinners, which are enjoyed by people of all ages. As a focal point for the community, IFH is dedicated to preserving and passing down knowledge from ancestors. While it could benefit from additional support, such as food banks for the elderly and children, IFH remains a pillar of the Indigenous intertribal community.
Being an integral part of the Native American community for over 70 years speaks for itself. This is the hub for many urban natives in Northern California especially in the Bay area.
